Re: your March 23 story, 'Police precinct eyed for city's south end': The decision to purchase property for a possible police precinct in the Saviers corridor in South Oxnard was made hastily, with a brief staff presentation and no input from residents or businesses. The city council bypassed committees and neighborhood councils and approved a police precinct without a facility needs assessment or data on anticipated response time improvements for the area. Furthermore, to secure the property, the council depleted $2.
